Ilmington is a charming village and it is still unspoilt by tourism and traffic. It is so bucolic as the sheep graze on the hills surrounding the village and the quiet of the night is worth the price of admission. We loved the Howard Arms. The Village room was spacious and had loads of history and beautiful features. Breakfasts were plentiful with good options. We will definitely stay here again if we return to this part of the Cotswolds.

We had a wonderful stay in the little village. We really enjoyed the room, the friendly staff and the beautiful surroundings. The bed in our room was truly king size - and I must say it’s the best bed I have slept in on any trip I have been on. Surprised on the upside by the welcoming and friendly staff, the coziness of the bar and restaurant which was clearly a magnet for the local community, felt authentic and welcoming! Enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the evening, and an incredibly generous breakfast which we did not manage to finish due to the sumptuous dinner the night before! Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting the surrounding Cotswold villages if you want something cosy and authentic!

The Howard Arms was fantastic! The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. We were worried because our room was right over the beer garden, but everything was closed and quiet by 10 pm. The tavern decor is really nice and we had a very good quality dinner and breakfast there. It’s in a quaint small village and we took some lovely walks directly from the Inn. I highly recommend for a weekend or romantic getaway destination!
