The Semeli was what we needed since it had a 24 hour desk. The staff was very good at answering questions and helping with transportation. The hotel is much nicer than the street it is on which is cluttered with dysfunctional scooters. Despite the appearance, there is a police station across the street so it is safe. The room was nice and you have maid service every day. The only disappointment at the Semeli was that the mattress was uncomfortable.

Hard to get into the parking lot as there was a police blockade on the street, but I assume this is not a permanent occurrence. The first set of bedsheets had a slight smell of smoke, even though we were in a non-smoking room. This was fixed for the second night when they changed the sheets. Overall the hotel is decent, considering that it is quite cheap.

The overall surrounding is not good. At night time, I felt unsafe walking on the road. Hotel is in the narrow alley, not convenient for travellers. My shower door is broken, water is everywhere when taking shower.

We had an okay stay at Semeli Hotel. The workers were friendly and helpful. The wifi was very interrupted and the location was a bit average. But overall good value because the price was cheap so no complaints 🙏

Not recommended
It was relatively clean and the air conditioner cooled well. The location was good. But the equipment was old. The worst part was that there was no power outlet! Only the refrigerator, air conditioner and TV were connected to the electricity, and one of the devices had to be disconnected to charge the mobile phone or laptop!

The wifi did not work which is absolutely key when traveling. The knob on the bathroom door was open so we could not fully close the bathroom door. As soon as I entered the room I could smell a faint musky odor like wet smoke, the carpet was horribly stained, the closet door knob came off in my hand, the toilet lid was loose and kept sliding around, the room needed painting as the paint was faded, the bathroom sink faucet was loose and flopped around when you tried to use it and the shower was tiny and leaked all over the floor when you took a shower. I complained to the check -in person and told me the carpets were clean just discolored and I should buy a throw rug from a market up the street to cover it up. I aked for another room and he told me they didnt have any and the room was still usable. Being exhausted from the long flight I stayed that night and the next day I made a reservation for another place and left the day after. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at!

"The first two days, the room they gave us wasn’t good, and we couldn't sleep a moment at night because of the noise outside. The room condition wasn’t good, especially the bathroom, which needed repairs, and the hair dryer was out of order. However, after two days, they changed our room upon my insistence. One of the reception staff, though, was a bit rude, saying, 'With the money you paid, we don’t have a better room for you,' even though there were several empty rooms on the quieter side of the hotel within our budget. After the room change, we had a pleasant stay. The only odd thing was that, even on the first day, there was no bottle of water or adequate soap and shampoo. We received two very small bottles of shampoo and a coin-sized bar of soap, and we had to go shopping that night.

I did not have a good experience at all. I booked 6 nights and only stayed 1 because of how bad my room was. It was dirty and smelled of smoke, even though it was supposed to be no smoking. There were stains everywhere, the A/C was blocked by broken blinds so it wasn’t really working, and overall did not match was the booking pictures describe. I was offered no change of room, and when I complained with pictures, they just brushed me off. No partial refund/compensation or accommodation of any kind.

Very difficult parking around the area. Narrow roads. Opposite a police station, so the one way entrance to the road is permanently blocked and very difficult to get around. I’m street-wise, so ok the walk around, but I wouldn’t recommended any ladies to walk around st night. During the day it’s safe. Hotel staff, especially George, is friendly. Hotel room decor is below par. Skanky carpet, shower head was blocked, toilet seat was unattached- if it were my hotel I’d spend a coupe of thousand pounds doing the room up. Would I stay there..? For the price, it’s ok. But if you’re into cleanliness, I wouldn’t. Hotel is local to a fantastic location in terms of coffee shops, so every morning I would go there and have a coffee.
