Check in was easy, but that's where the good part ends. Got to the room and turned the heater up to 65 degrees. Instantly smelled like an electrical fire, then smoke and toxic smell forced us to leave the room as the smoke alarm began ringing. Turned the heater off and called the front desk. They said they'd send maintenance up to check on it and reset the smoke alarm, but after standing outside of the room for 20 minutes waiting, I just went to the front desk to get a room change as that toxic smell wasnt going anywhere. When I got back to the room, maintenance had unscrewed the window stop to ventilate the smoke while also resetting the smoke alarm. Their resoning for the smoke was that the heaters hadn't been run in a while so it was burning off dust. Smh. So toxic and smokey at 65 degrees that the smoke alarm goes off? Totally unacceptable for any guest as me and the gf both felt dizzy after only a few minutes of exposure. The entire hallway smelled of burnt plastic as I moved all our luggage to another floor. Room number 2, walked in, unpacked, and used the bathroom. Toilet never stopped running. Opened the tank lid to see the stopped broken in half. Smh. Back down to the front desk again and another room change. Room number 3 didn't have any issue They sent up a maid to make sure everything worked, but her attitude was on par with the first room as if I was inconveniencing her during her shift. Let's just say, I will never stay or recommend the Edgewater again. Ever!!!
