We love staying at The Leta. It’s a great, comfortable and clean place to stay when we visit our daughter at UCSB. The staff is always friendly. The rooms are very cozy and comfortable, and we love the restaurant too. It’s our home away from home every time we’re in Santa Barbara!

Remodeled Motel
This looks like it was simply a remodeled motel. They added vinyl floors, hipster decor, and that's about it. The walls are paper thin. We could hear the neighbors talking on both sides of us and then a dog was barking in a room the entire time before we left! The grounds are nice and the bed was comfy but I wouldn't recommend this "hotel" because it's not a 4 star hotel. It's a 3 star motel.

When I arrived I was told that my room (king bed) was not available. They offered me a refund or a room with only a sofa. How are two people supposed to sleep on a sofa and why even have a room like this available? We had to cancel and drive the 3 hour trip back home. So awful. Terrible experience.

Staff is superb! They elevate this property. Property is a bit noisy because the walls are thin between rooms. Charging $15 a night for motel style parking is just price gauging from Hilton.

Nothing fancy, but a fine place in "Noleta"
Stayed here for a couple nights over Christmas of 2024 while visiting family in my hometown. It's a fine hotel, but definitely feels its age in some ways. I remember it being a bit nicer as the "Goodland," when I believe it was operated by Kimpton. Either way, it suited our needs and was comfortable/clean enough.

Don’t stay at the Leta
The property is being renovated so that could be part of the problem. They first gave us a room with just a couch bed. When we protested, they found a room with a queen. We had booked a king room. The air conditioning was broken. They did repair it. Some plugs did not work. Unrepaired even after reporting. Hot water sketchy even after waiting five minutes. All in all, good location, bad experience

Nice heated pool, renovations underway.
There is a lot of window replacement currently going on with pounding all day. The bed is comfortable but with no fitted bottom sheet everything is a mess. Water damaged walls outside of shower are bubbled and repainted. The closed loved doors were banged up and need replacement. A room for family of 4 had only 2 towels. The pool was heated and large space on the property. It was the star for the kids. The lobby had better coffee in the morning than the room pods. The restaurant and bar was very good. Walking distance was short to multiple restaurants and Trader Joe’s. I was surprised there was no free water bottles in room.parking was spacious. The neighborhood behind was pleasant for walking. This felt overpriced but probably not for the area.
