Charming old town with so much fascinating history - loved exploring the cathedral, piazza and old town! Lots of excellent dining options. Hard to get taxis is my only complaint! Otherwise, highly recommend! Also, great jumping off point for Galicia!

While Santiago de Compostela is known for being the final destination for the Camino, it's a great town on its own! Hospitality abounds, friendly people, clean, easy to get familiar with, and great cafe culture. 10 out of 10.

The mass takes place a few times per day. The pilgrims museum closes early on a sunday. Definitely worth staying an extra day after the camino!

After having walked or biked, the city offers opportunities for prayer, along with great shopping & dining. You can easily get lost without a good paper map! Google maps & Apple Maps are a challenge to use with or without internet connectivity!

"The Hotel is just at the edge of town in Santiago. However, they offer a shuttle service to downtown every hour from 10 am to 8 PM.
The hotel itself is great. We booked a villa and price was very good. Very roomy with a separate bedroom. Looks to be very new.
Definitely recommend this Hotel."
"Beautiful building, interior and exterior. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Charming! Continental breakfast buffet - no hot food items. Staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend San Miguel!"
"It is close to the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral and has a beautiful landscape, trees and gardens .Best breakfast . I really enjoy the hotel and the city "
"Amazing find after walking the Camino for 7 days. It’s a bit outside of town, but it’s also a quick ride to the airport, which is why I booked it. Front desk people were super friendly and helpful at checkin. Good in the bar was excellent. Even the pool area was very well done, even if it was too cold to go in. The room was huge, very nice bathroom, and tons of space.
Would stay here again 100%. "
"Beautiful, historic hotel in the heart of the city. Our room was clean and beautiful. The staff were very nice and helpful. We enjoyed a beautiful lunch in the the restaurant. We look forward to returning again. "
