Hotel was in a prime position, for both the beach and night scene. The hotel is small but well kept and the rooms are well designed/decorated and very welcoming & comfortable. They are doing their bit from an eco perspective too which is nice to see.

Great location. AC wasn’t working. No elevator although the front desk helped me lift my luggage down the stairs.

Bad experience - did not reflect Mercure’s brand
The photo on the website looked delightful. The reality was so different. The price we paid was £251 but on the day the price had fallen to £160. The room we were given was dinged, cramped though the bed was comfortable. The staircase to the bed would be most awkward for many to navigate. Definitely won’t be returning.

very expensive for the room we received but then again it's a first line property right on the Cote d'azur. Hotel outdated with sink and hairdryer not working correctly. Room on the first floor on the left side are very noicy because of the restaurant terras on the ground floor.

Great property- cross road to Esplanade & beach.
Hotel rooms in France are small- that’s ok,
But the bathroom had no plug in for the hairdryer.
I had to try to style my hair in bedroom without a mirror.
Suggestion- add mirror over the small desk where there is a plug in. Also, shower has no place to put bottle for conditioner/ shaving blade.

I stayed here to be close to “old town” and the Mediterranean. I knew I was not going to take advantage of the other amenities other than talk with the concierge about places to check out. The staff was great and the location was awesome if you want to check out the beach across the street as well as be right by the cafes and shopping. Excellent!

It worked
Room was small, but we were only staying one night so it was fine. The noise level as high because our room was against the alley way.

Mercure Marche aux Fleurs
Great location with very friendly staff. Good to see them making as many changes in terms of sustainability and eco-friendly toiletries and paper cups for water, etc. Fab breakfast options available daily.
Downside was the room was quite small with very little storage space for two of us and having to wriggle past end of bed and wall-mounted TV.
Having said that, we would use again but probably upgrade room.

Tiny rooms, maybe ok for a very short stay
This is clearly not a 4 star hotel, the rooms are tiny, with the bed on a mezzanine floor, albeit they are clean and well maintained The “courtyard” view was actually over an alleyway with the frog restaurant underneath which was very noisy. Photo shown are mainly if the privilege rooms - they certainly look brighter and more acceptable. We lasted 2 nights before we moved to another hotel ( we’d prepaid so could not get refund - this tells you how bad it was ).

The front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. The mattresses have a protective wrapping around them, however, I think it would be better if a fitted sheet was covering the plastic as opposed to a regular sheet since the regular sheet often moved and you could feel the plastic. My room was facing an alley and it was often very noisy especially late at night due to clean up from the restaurant. However, the room was overall very clean, along with the bathroom. If I were to return to Nice, I would stay here again.
