The rooms are spacious and clean, but the hotel is under construction. I do NOT remember reading about this on Expedia prior to booking. This was significant because there were no dining options on site except a ‘carry-out’ type of place for snacks. This was not so bad because the hotel next door had excellent dining options. The main issue with construction at the hotel was that the pool was closed and there was no use of a neighboring pool. It is a good thing we are ‘beach people’, but it put a bit of a damper on the kids’ plans.

Didn't 1) clean room 2) recover left behind item

In our 5 days stay, our rooms were not cleaned multiple times. When I asked house cleaning why they didn't clean my room - I got an answer of "too many rooms", which means they are probably understaffed. In addition, I left behind my favorite dress pants in the closet, and even tough I called it in the next day, they were not recovered. This was my fifth trip to the Confidante and I had consistent major problems this trip. It was only two days yet: Nobody told me that coffee ended at 10am. The prices of food and drinks were practically doubled and the menus were slimmed down. Breakfast buffet is $34. I had to ask 3 times for my room to be cleaned, the staff acted angry when i asked for late checkout on a Tuesday morning with the hotel pretty empty when my flight was at 7pm. I did get a little late checkout but I felt like I was frowned at about it. All in all I still love this hotel, but its definitely not as friendly as it was.
