I chose to be outside of Portland for a change. I picked Red Lion because of their positive reputation and breakfast provided. I did not realize it would be instant oatmeal and fruit. Check in was fine. After checking in, we walked into the hallway and it smells like animal pee everywhere. I was nervous our room would smell, but it doesn't. Beds are good. Blanket is the thinnest thing I've ever seen. But it's ok. Left for the day. Came back and I had no new coffee or things in the room. Fine print on the map given is we have to request staff to come. Pool and sauna are closed until further notice. We won't be back.

Awful
It had the name red lion, so I figured there would be some standards and it would be decent, but I was appalled at how gross it was. Mold on the ceiling fan without a cover that had about 2 inches of dust up in. It smelled like stale cigarettes. I felt like I was in a very dirty motel six in the 70s when people smoke in them. I couldn’t sleep. I ended up checking out and going to a different hotel. The only positive thing I can say is the staff was very nice. The Continental breakfast was some really brown gross bananas displayed in a cardboard box, coffee, and a few dry packets of oatmeal.

One night stay
You can tell the property has made some renovations but unfortunately the cigarette smell lingers in the halls, probably from the carpet that seems to still be OG Otherwise, our room had accurate temperature control, the breakfast was pretty good, and everything was clean inside the room. Reception was patient and i was able to get checked in within less than an hour of booking a room. The general area is pretty safe it seemed, and the property was pretty quiet throughout the evening. Id stay again.

So so
Friends and I stayed one night for a concert close by. It was a little run down but clean and comfortable. Be aware that breakfast is a grab bag and go situation. And the free parking was full and we were not able to park by our room after the concert. Then we were rudely awakened at 8am to move our car. On a positive note, we forgot something in our room and they sent it to us.

Poor communication, uncomfortable and perfumed roo
They were repaving parking lot. They posted that the lot would be closed at 8am but still called our room two different times, 45 min apart to see if our car was in wrong lot. (It wasn't) They then came to our door knocking to ask if our car was in the wrong lot, again. The hot tub and pool were closed for construction. The room smelled of so much deodorizer spray, it was overpowering. We opened the windows for several hours to make it liveable. The bed was so hard, it felt like sleeping on concrete. To put it nicely, we won't be back.

Poor amenities and communication
My friends were unable to checkin without me even though I called ahead and was told they could. Three towels for 4 people, no iron and then insisted we already had an iron when we asked for one. Poor bedding, called desk for extra blankets and none arrived. I used my picnic blanket from my car and wore layers to bed! And 3 pillows on each queen for 2 people in a bed?? Creaky, uncomfortable beds. Need to update amenities and provide better communication. Would not stay there again.

The room smelled like cigarettes and felt very dirty. Horrible pillows and mold on the windows and ceiling. I always take reviews with a grain of salt and we only needed a one night stay but the bad reviews are correct. Would never stay here again.

So the room was updated but the building it was in was not. Room and bathroom clean. Bed was clean and comfortable. The room had wooden floors and was huge. The Taco Bell drive thru was by building didn't hear any noise. Would stay again

Definitely needs a little updating, especially new carpet. Plenty of restaurants all around and just short walking distances. Great overnightspot if your hitting a concert at the ridgefiled amphitheater

Cheap motel for one night
We were just there to stay the night for a concert. Didn't need anything fancy and we did not get anything fancy. I did not pay for my room when I booked it months ago. They tried to charge me too much, spent about 5 minutes in a chat room with a hotels.com representative. And then my pre-arranged much lower rate was accepted. So just always be aware of what's going on at any time.

The facility was very reasonably priced and not in terrible condition, but our room toilet seat was secured by one fastener (It spun like a top) and the TV didn't work. The night manager attempted to repair the TV at 11:00PM (Nice man) but was unable to get the thing working. The "breakfast" is a joke, don't bother getting up early to avail yourself of a muffin...

The place is pretty run down. I heard everything in other rooms: footsteps, dogs barking , etc. Overall, it was pretty clean but all of it seemed so old and run down

This place calling itself a "hotel" is like a house cat calling itself a cheetah. It is desperate need of a makeover. Peeling paint, gaps in the room entrance door, multiple dents in the mini fridge and major missing parts, smelly, musty hallway, and just not hotel quality overall. Will not stay there again. Also there's not enough parking!! Multiple guests had to park in another nearby business parking lot. Very inconvenient especially if you're handicapped. Pictures on the website is NOT how our room looked. No art on the walls and lots of peeling chipped paint. Very dark and gloomy look to the room we stayed in.
