Lovely clean hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Would definitely stay there again. The lift could do with updating and if they could supply some snacks or food apart from breakfast would be the only improvements to make it complete.

Wow! First, this is an outstanding and amazing, historical property full of frescos and artwork, it takes your breath on entry and has artworks and surprises everywhere. Every room/suite is unique and ours was stunning. The standards are very high and the staff deserve full mention, they are friendly and welcoming, informative and proud. Perfectly placed at the end of the seafront, the Astoria is small and very welcoming. Rapallo town centre is a short walk away as is the railway station. On arrival we were welcomed by Alessandro and Sara who were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a fantastic week. The room, though not huge, was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was varied and ample for us. Highly recommended.

So…I’ll start with our first impressions. Taxi dropped us off from the train station down an alley saying he couldn’t take us to piazza campetto. He also charged us 25€ for the privilege. This is NOT the going rate. Went down to the dockside, first impression was it is unsafe and we were unsure about staying.
After our first evening of feeling rather unsafe, the next day was completely different. Wandered round the area, went to the aquarium (brilliant) and wandered up to main square. Genoa...

Very much enjoyed our week's stay at The Continental. We had a nice sea view room on the second floor with a small balcony. The outlook from this hotel across its beautiful gardens across the bay at Santa Marg. is outstanding whether from the room or having a drink on the terrace. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Great breakfast on the terrace every morning and short walk down the hill to the charming town. So much better than overrated Portafino. Only negative we had was that the hotel sun...
