I truly appreciate the staff’s dedication to preserving the historical character of the facility—it’s clear that a great deal of care has gone into maintaining its authenticity. However, some aspects of the stay were quite unusual and challenging for today’s travelers.
The room was very small and lacked modern essentials such as a door lock, microwave, and refrigerator, which are especially important during the summer months. The fan in the open window was not sufficient to maintain a comfortable temperature or humidity level, making it difficult to sleep both at night and during the day. The air-conditioning was non an option. The twin beds were small and not particularly comfortable, which further impacted the quality of rest.
The shared bathrooms had non-secured doors, which did not provide peace of mind. Additionally, the breakfast offering was limited to a basic continental selection—an English breakfast was not available during our stay, despite being expected.
Given these conditions, we chose not to return the next day and instead made the decision to drive home overnight. That said, we are grateful for the warm and welcoming attitude of the staff, which we truly appreciated.
Thank you.
