Property was very nice, clean, comfortable and safe. Maricruz contacted me with all the info I needed to check in later in the evening and was helpful the next morning holding our luggage while we toured the city. Only trouble we had was with the wifi and phone signal not sure if it was because we were on the ground floor or what but overall everything was good and we would stay again!

Great historic location in Old San Juan
Amazing location in a beautiful historic building in the heart of Old San Juan. Steps away from shopping, bars, and restaurants with a view of Castillo San Cristobal. The walk to the cruise terminal at pier 4 was about 8 minutes. Maricruz, the owner, was so friendly and helpful also. Will definitely stay again!

Wonderful stay. My room was through an inner courtyard, clean, quiet and with good A/C. Everything in Old San Juan is easily walkable and the property and surroundings feel very safe. I would stay at Hugo’s again and highly recommend it tosnyone visiting San Juan.

Stay at Hugo's!
We stayed for just one evening between trips and this was just right. We chose an inside room and even that had a window to the inner garden area. It was a simple but spacious room with very tall ceilings. It has recently been built so everything was new. They gave us recommendations for breakfast lunch and dinner, and held our bags until we were ready to depart from Old San Juan. I would have booked for our return stay but those days were all filled.

Right at the center, yet quiet & friendly
We wanted to have the old San Juan experience, and Hugo's place was at the perfect location with friendly service and all the comfort we needed. The room was quiet and easy to access despite being in a busy area of town. We were given good and flexible service even though we arrived early, and they made us feel like home. We will come back next time in old San Juan!

Great place
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a week long trip. First of all communication from staff was great. I recieved a message from staff early offering to store our luggage if needed and again before we checked out which i thought was very kind. Location is great, walking distance to everything including ruins, stores and restaurants. The rooms are spacious, clean and have everything you need including a fridge and nice large shower. Staff was very accomodating in giving us extra items we asked for. The building has a beautiful courtyard with rooms surrounding. Even though you are in the middle of a busy city you wouldn't know it because it is very quiet and peaceful inside. Would stay here again for sure.

We loved our stay at Hugo Rental. Ease of getting in and out of the property was great. Our host Mari was amazing. She guide us where was the best parking lot and also provided suggestions of where to go for breakfast. The poperty was very authentic. Very centric to get to the sights and stores in old San Juan. Highly recommend it. Note there are stairs to get to the rooms, but that was not a problem for us.

Property is still been renovated, it is nice and room was super clean and new. However, the electric water heater had to be reset every time as it was the wifi. It would have been nice to know that the third floor was up a steep stairs, not suitable if you are carrying a large suitcase, I had to ask for help from a friend.

I loved this place! First location is perfect. You have everything around. Second check in and check out. Not having keys is a plus. Communication with host was perfect. She was always very happy to help and makes sure I had everything I needed. The room was big and with everything you need. Shower 🚿 had great temperature and everything was clean and since you enter the place everything smells good. I appreciate the candies they had and that there was a microwave outside. It was silent. AC. I will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing stay. I was alone and felt safe.
