We really enjoyed our stay at the Harkness Hotel. You can tell this property has been thoughtfully renovated. The room was spotless, the sheets were crisp, and the king bed was incredibly comfortable after a full day of exploring the Maine coast.
Our king room faced the back of the hotel, which made it nice and quiet in the evenings for a good night’s sleep. In the morning, we could hear some traffic from Route 1. It wasn’t overwhelming—in fact, it was almost soothing at times, though if you’re a light sleeper it might be a little distracting.
The location was perfect—snuggled between Rockport and Camden, making it easy to explore both towns. It was also just a short drive to the local grocery store and within walking distance of American Flatbread Company, which was a nice bonus.
The hotel focuses on providing a clean, comfortable stay without unnecessary extras, and it does that very well. If you’re looking for a modern, affordable place to stay while exploring Midcoast Maine, the Harkness Hotel is a great choice. We’d definitely stay here again.
