The Avani Rio Novo Venice Hotel is nicely located close to the train station. It’s a bit far from Piazza San Marco, but we did not mind.
Our room was on the second floor, facing the back of the hotel, and we did mind the noise (loud talking/screaming) coming from the hotel staff, during the early hours of the morning, as they entered the back door/loading door of the property—unnecessary noise, and complete disregard for the wellbeing of the guests.
In Addition, the reception staff was not very nice, and did not seem to care for the guests—a feeling we did not get anywhere else in Italy during this trip or others.
But, our room was clean, spacious, had good natural light, and it was comfortable.
