We stayed for a few days and found that this lovely place was full of historic character and the bed was absolutely lovely and i just could not wait to get back to just have a really good night's sleep. The staf are and very helpfel , charming and made our stay so much better. The breakfast was great and the food choice was very good. They is a front room which is great for just resting and reading a good book and nice beverage. If we ever have a the chance to visit this area , this is the first choice as the exprience was just impeccable.

We loved our stay here and the staff were very helpful and friendly, we wish we could have stayed longer. The facilities were beautiful at such a reasonable price. A wonderful stately home hotel on the edge of a quiet North Yorkshire village, with lovely staff, great rooms/suites, enchanting public rooms and an excellent breakfast. The restaurant was closed for dinner when we stayed (we knew this when we booked) but we were recommended to try the hotel’s sister establishment, The Bay Horse pub, just a 5 minute walk away in the village, where the food was first class. Both the hotel and the pub are highly recommended.

Lovely accommodation with a personal touch.
This is such a lovely place. Very personal, certainly when compared with chains. The food was excellent and the communal areas really lovely. The gardens were a nice surprise - we were expecting good landscaping but there was also really very impressive planting as well. We will be back!
