"We really enjoyed our stay. The location was convenient for all our planned sightseeing, room was clean and comfortable, parking was easy. The complimentary breakfast and happy hour sets Drury Inn apart from the competition."
"I had a unique opportunity to compare the Clayton Plaza to another hotel. My employer put me up at Fancy hotel for a couple nights. I was looking for an economical option to extend my stay a few days and I found the Clayton Plaza. It’s a great location in the heart of downtown Clayton that worked very well for my needs The room rate was about half the cost of Fancy hotel and included a very extensive delicious breakfast buffet, (served on paper plates), free parking and the use of facilities I didn’t need. At Fancy hotel everything - including bottled water in the room - was extra. The room, while very simple, was spacious and clean and had everything I needed, including a small refrigerator and a microwave. When I stayed at Fancy hotel, I could never get hot water in the shower whereas at the Clayton Plaza the shower was excellent and reliable. Fancy hotel had no counter space for my toiletries while Clayton Plaza had ample. The towels were not as plush, but they were clean and available. I didn’t have maid service so I can’t comment on that. The air conditioner worked very well and it was very hot day, better than at Fancy hotel. The dining room staff and other staff were very pleasant and helpful. At Fancy hotel, the reception clerk was very well trained and gracious while Clayton Plaza reception could use a little training. Windows could be cleaner, signage could be more polished, but for an economical, desirable location Clayton Plaza would be hard to beat. "
Magnolia Hotel St. Louis, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Bed was the most comfortable of a 10 day road trip. Staff were so nice. Historic hotel, so rooms are a little small, but nicely updated. Would stay again! "
"What seperates this hotel from many others in the downtown area is the people. They truly work to make your stay comfortable. My room was not satisfactory when I arrived as it looked like the plumbing backed up into the tub. They promptly gave us a different room and a breakfast voucher. Every where I went I saw staff and mangers alike working together and asking if we needed anything. On Sunday, when there was a checkout crunch, the Valet was slammed and had a line. I saw it and figured we were in for a wait. But the operations there had everything flowing smoothly and I had my car before I knew it. There are 3 restaurants in the hotel, a bar and a Starbucks. Plus you can't beat the location. My only complaints would be the A/C wasn't too strong, and you could hear people racing cars down below despite being on the 16th floor. The parking is a bit pricey, which being downtown is expected and you must do valet on Friday and Saturday as the spaces are limitied. "
