Definitely recommend La Fortuna, this was my first trip there. Weather was fortunately amazing. Lots of great restaurants to choose from. Definitely go down the La Fortuna waterfall to see it and get in the water. 4 nights seems enough.

La Fortuna offered a lot of great experiences. We enjoyed zip lining, a night hike with a guide, hanging bridges, and the awesome Choyin thermal river. The downside is that it is VERY touristy. Overall great place to visit for a few days.

A great town for the touristic Costa Rica experience - rainforest hikes, volcano trails, nature tours and thrillseeking (rafting, ziplining, etc) all readily available. Lots of small shops and restaurants in the central area as well

There are many activities to do in La Fortuna. We went zip lining, hanging bridge walking, float trip, chocolate tasting, sloth watching and a night walk. We saw many animal and birds and beautiful flowers and jungle trees.

The town of La fortuna is somewhat kitschy and touristy but it's a great jumping off point for adventure activities. I would not visit La fortuna if you aren't planning to or are unable to do physical activities.

The main road in the central part of town was lively with lots of restaurants to choose from. Fun to walk around. Parking can be challenging, but we got lucky on a side street in the heart of the town.

Bussling little town. Go see Costa Rica Dog Resue crdogresue.com by La Fortuna Waterfall. You can spend a day volunteering, walking dogs and helping this VERY worthwhile charity! They aslo serve great margaritas!
