Much different vibe than Palermo. More relaxing, many lovely churches and piazzas. Other buildings more colonial looking. Fish market great with lots of street food eateries there. People friendly and many great restaurants of all sorts. Feel safe.

The monastery is a must. Particularly the roof top as the sun gets low. Every street is full of fascinating sights. Some amazing churches hidden behind metal doors and wire. Lots of events and activities. Almost as packed as Rome but more alive.

Catania is lovely and has plenty of history. Great food! Great piazza to spend hours people watching. Evenings are fun. Visiting Mt Etna is a great day trip from Cantania. Use is as a base to visit Taormina and Ortigia.

It's a place to spend a long weekend or longer with multiple trips elsewhere. The best bits are great but some bits you go through on the way to them are pretty run down and some feel a bit unsafe. Lots of graffiti, even on tourist sites.

"Great location and safe. Great staff. Very professional and fast. Rooms are nice. Beautiful architecture and decor. A very good place to stay in the middle of the city. "
"My stay was on Saturday, so it could be different on other days of the week, but the area close to the hotel is like Las Vegas Strip with hundreds of people walking and shouting, cars honking, and bikes revving till late night. And there is almost none sound insulation, so if you go to bed early, there's no chance to sleep. Moreover, if you are at 3rd floor you can hear screech of chairs scraping in the restaurant/cocktail bar at 4th. Another disadvantage is the lack of kettle in the room. Other than that, it's a very nice hotel with a great view on the sea, varied breakfast (though, strangely, there's no orange juice!), and an underground parking (it's next to impossible to park on the street)."
"The hotel is a couples retreat with a fabulous private spa experience available complete with 2 jacuzzis, sauna, steam room and your own bottle of Prosecco and fruit!
The breakfast in the courtyard was charming with a tremendous assortment to choose from!
The valet parking is rare for a city hotel so getting in and out is very easy!
The bathroom is our room was a modern artistic wonder! Easily the best I have seen in Sicily at this price!
The staff look after every need with great pride and attention. The Duomo is 3 blocks aways with over 100 hundred food and beverage options!
This is easily the best couple's romantic retreat at this price on Sicily. A small boutique hotel who is going to turn heads!
I highly recommend this property!"
"The staff were super helpful and kind! I had some medical issues to deal with and Vanessa and Carla - the concierge’s were do beautiful and kind to me!
The cleaning staff were amazing and everyone was helpful and kind! Can’t recommend enough! "
