Wouldn’t rebook
Check in process is very restrictive and confusing. If your plane is late you need to find somewhere else to stay. Restaurant staff where you collect the key weren’t very helpful. Needed cash for the tax and to use their expensive ATM to get it. Waiter was rude. Hot and no a/c.

Great location. The only problem was the bathroom needs a little work done. A new vanity is needed and plumbing for the shower. The check in was easy and the communication with owners was great. Thank you

The apartment was located in a great spot, right up by Castelo de São Jorge meaning the streets below were super buzzy during the day. Buskers would commonly perform below on the corner of street so you could hear live music when up in the apartment. Super easy check-in and lovely people :)

This place has everything!
Lovely place to stay. Great location, opposite the Castelo walls. Very convenient having friendly and delicious restaurant & smaller tavern across the road also run by Barrio Conquistador- and my friend in the souvenir shop (maybe not appropriate to name?) was very welcoming and helpful. So there is lots of backup! Highly recommended.

won't return
Stayed for 3 nights in mid-April. Overall experience was quite underwhelming. The host was not welcoming and a bit rude, to be honest. the apartment lacks any sort of noise protection - so sleeping at night was problematic. the bathroom area needs to be updated - water is leaking to the floor from the shower , and under the sink cabinet is very damaged/molded/pealed because of humidity

Mostly impressive... just one oddity.
We were pleasantly surprised with the nice decorating and cleanliness of the apartment. The location was fun, right next to the castle, but as other reviewers said, it was quite loud. The vendors were just below our room and tourists until 9pm when the castle closes. We didn't mind it, though; it was fun to people-watch. The worst part for me was how loud the vehicles were driving over the cobbles. The bus stop is practically at the front door and the yellow trolley goes up and down the hill nearby. We didn't find a grocery store, but it was a well-stocked kitchen with a mini fridge. The only thing that really turned me off was the bathroom vanity. It was a cheap laminate that had bad water damage and peeling veneer. The towels were stiff from apparently being line-dried, but there were plenty of them for four of us. The beds were comfortable, even the kids' pull-out. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't made up for us, but the blankets were readily available. We arrived at about 9pm and were able to get our key from the restaurant next door; very detailed directions came in an email. Everything was able to be securely locked with three doors. We felt safe. Ubers cannot drive to the front door (because it's national land.. only busses, taxis, and residents). Drop-offs occur down the hill about 50 yards. We were able to line up an Uber the night before leaving from that same area down the hill at 4:15am.

This place was good, check in was easy and convenient. Place had lots of windows from each side which brought in a nice air blow. My only negative for this is location. It in in the hills and hard to get directly into location with taxi or bolts which meant a lot of walking and sweating for summer time. And the apartment was a little small for 3 adults.

Great experience
Andrea and Margerida were extremely helpful. We truly enjoyed being in the historic centre and didn't mind walking up and down the hill but it was nice to find an external elevator to reduce the hilly climb and was in front of grocery store Pingo Doce. Although there was no air conditioning, the windows open created a nice breeze. We enjoyed the music and drinks downstairs and didn't mind the noise.

Misleading description & photos - don't stay here!
The location was good directly in front of the castle and we didn't mind the noise from the restaurant below. BUT, the apartment needs A LOT of work. The bathroom was disgusting & smelled terrible. One of the worst places we have stayed anywhere in the world. The fixtures are falling apart and materials used seem like they are the cheapest products from IKEA. Read previous bad reviews & responses from management/owners. Most concerning was the black mold growing in multiple places in the bathroom (see photos). The sink was almost unusable, we brushed our teeth in the kitchen. Don't waste your money here. It is not a good option for the price. Noise related issues could be easily fixed (e.g., hooks for windows, slow closing hinges for doors, garbage, etc.). The owners don't seem to care about the state of the property or the guest experience. The staff and food at the restaurant was good. Also, watch out for the many, many scams in Lisbon. Do your research and choose wisely before you book. Do not stay here until they have repaired the apartments.

Clean and comfortable
We loved the location and view, right next to the entrance of the castle. We were able to walk almost everywhere (and didn't mind walking up the hill every evening back to the hotel). The ladies who checked us in were friendly, and the room (a small apartment, really) was clean and comfortable. The only difficult thing was the tiny bathroom with the tiniest sink ever--you can wash your hands, but any other washing needed to be done at the kitchen sink. It took a bit of practice to take a shower without getting water on the floor. We would stay again!

Our apartment at Casas do Bairro Conqvistador served as an excellent basecamp for exploring Lisbon. The location near St. Jorge's castle is simply incredible -- still remembering listening to the peacocks at night. Bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room are well appointed, clean and comfortable. Great restaurant downstairs for dinner and nearby cafe for breakfast. Top notch.
