Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price
Staying at Clarion Admiral felt oddly more like a trip to a worn-out Eastern European cruise ship than a hotel in the heart of Bergen. The decor is a chaotic mishmash of styles, which could have been quirky and charming—had it not been for the overwhelmingly tired, stained, and dated condition of the place.
The worn, stained chair with peeling paint perfectly summed up the hotel’s disregard for quality and guest comfort.
The attention to detail was severely lacking. The room came with instant powder coffee and three tea bags—all the same (Lady Grey)—and sugar sachets that looked like they’d been sitting there for ages.
For a hotel that charges prices comparable to far better establishments, the overall experience was deeply disappointing. In short: an overpriced, underwhelming experience. I would not recommend staying here unless serious renovations and service improvements are made. The slogan “Clarion – Living, not just staying” feels entirely misplaced. A more honest motto might be: “Just staying. Not living.”
