For a budget hotel it was very clean, ad the bathroom was decent. Yes there were odd signs of wear and tear but generally very good. The guy on reception last night when I checked in very late in the evening was very polite, friendly and helpful. Will be staying again, great value for money

Overall location of the property was fantastic. A few cleanliness issues, stains on the fitted sheet, no shower curtain etc. Size of room was awesome and felt like a really safe neighborhood, very walkable. Staff was not the friendliest.

Excellent position between Bayswater, Queensway and Notting Hill in a quiet square, with many restaurants and tube stations a few minutes walk away.
Despite booking a superior room decor was dated and with windows wide open and noisy fan on it was still too hot...not helped by low grade sheets on the bed.

This hotel was nice, clean for the most part (our bed cushions smelled a bit musty, though) and staff was really nice.
Room was small, but it was enough for a 2 night stay. It gets really warm when it's sunny out as sun hits it directly. Not a complaint, just something to know.
Cannot leave luggage, as we were told the hotel is not responsible for it, and that we could leave it just beside the reception desk, which we chose not to do. Other than that, good place to stay.

It's... Fine.
It's... fine. That's about it. The location is the biggest perk here as you're nestled in the heart of Notting Hill with three tube stops within a quick walk.
Other than that, our room was on the first level, which was basically 10 feet from the front desk... kind of odd. The breakfast was lackluster and not good. Shower was tiny.
Bed was comfortable enough and price was reasonable. That's about it.

This hotel was very average. It was a little far away from the tourist sights but close to restaurants. Location was not terrible but not great either; however, a nice place for how expensive hotels are in London. Staff was not overly friendly or helpful. We had three people in our room, the room is way too small for that but should be fine for up to two people. We were there when the weather was very warm, this hotel does not have any air conditioning and the room was so hot, we were miserable. I would never stay here during the summer months. It had a large window, which you could only open a couple inches (they said for safety reasons), so there was not any air flow. Besides the air conditioning, my other big complaint is that there was no electrical outlets in the bathroom. This is crazy to me as we wanted to use flat irons and curling irons and had to figure out how to use them in the room. I will say that the hotel was clean and quiet, so if air conditioning and outlets are not a concern for you, it is a decent, clean place to stay.

I was pleasantly surprised by the New Linden. Location is pretty great 8min walk to Bayswater or Notting Hill on the circle line and about 30 min to most attractions. I was disappointed to find the shower was not draining and the light over it was out but they fixed both within 2 days. Daily maid service. Odd and quaint that you leave your key in a basket when you leave. Once they let me take the wrong key before I realized the mistake - use your hotel safe! Bag storage means leaving your bag in the lobby for anyone to grab but thankfully no issues. I'd bring a locking cable if I stayed again. Overall the hotel is in good shape and the only other concern would be lack of AC in the summer. We stayed in a family suite with 3 beds and worked out well but the steps to the main bedroom can be dangerous at night. The neighborhood was amazingly quiet and safe. Pubs within 8 minutes in either direction and a Sainsbury small grocery 3 min away. Hotel breakfast of hard boiled eggs, cereals, 2 kinds of yogurt, croissant, tea/coffee was underwhelming - Sainsbury has better food (salmon lox, fresh fruit, hot pain au chocolate, hot cocoa) for a lower price and open 30 min earlier.

Filthy room (stains, hairs), missing services promised in booking confirmation (‘Egyptian cotton’ sheets, ‘balcony’, ‘newspapers’, ‘left luggage’).
None of the above services are available and whilst the rest of the staff are lovely the owner is somewhat rude. I booked a “4 star hotel” and was told “this is not a full service hotel”.
Separately, they also have hidden surcharges e.g £130 if you leave your room key in your room and need letting in etc. these are only visible inside the property; thus, fleecing unsuspecting customers.
Book only if you are okay with dirty 2 star hotels.

Honestly, avoid this hotel. I booked it for family visiting and they had not stipulated clearly they would need ID on arrival. They were really pushy and aggressive when they didn’t immediately present ID, then when more family joined a few days later - no request for the ID at all. On top of that the air con was broken, the room was smaller than described and the extractor fan broke. As if it wasn’t enough, on the final day the boiler broke! So no hot water for a shower. Honestly, just awful.
