Nightmare
When arrived had help with bags thankfully as the room was the farther end of the building. Wi fi only available in the reception area so not able to send messages without going out when I have meal. The tv not working as batteries dead and no one to fix till today? Because so many there including lots of children the corridor was a mess. Think maybe homeless are housed there maybe. Not as pleasant as the last time I visited and will not be there again. Sorry. Staff friendly enough but too many problems.

2/10 Poor

This property is used to house homeless or immigrants, so please be aware of this if booking. The property is in desperate need of updating. Outside areas make the hotel look like it is derelict, inside decoration requires updating as well. The rooms are basic but clean. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This is not a superior hotel. I think it is a building mainly for homeless or destitute people that hopes to pick up casual hotel guests to fill any spare capacity. The whole place, including hallways and my room, reeked of curry which made my eyes water and contaminated my clothes for a few days. Avoid.

Cheap n cheerful enough.
Room was clean n tidy but decor & furnishings was tired def in need of a refurb. Was asked for ID when I checked in to “prove who I was” and challenged when I went in on the second day. Both done for my protection I guess but perhaps says a lot about the normal clientele that was there. Ok for a couple of nights but wouldn’t want to stay there any longer. Reception staff were very helpful.

2/10 Poor

There’s nothing superior about it…
As the title says, there was nothing superior about this hotel. It’s seen better days. The building is NOT accessible for disabled people. The interior is quite depressing and extremely dated, there’s fittings that look original from the 80s/90s. The furniture is an odd mix of secondhand stuff. We had 5 beds over 2 bunk beds crammed into one room with a full size fridge freezer(??) and a microwave that’s seen better days. There’s no phone signal and the WiFi only works in the lobby. The whole vibe is slum landlord/halfway house. It seems to be the kind of place the home office dumps asylum seekers in (not a criticism of asylum seekers! They deserve better than this too!). We also had a power cut and had to change rooms, so we cut our stay from 2 nights to 1. The staff on duty were very nice and trying their best, but it was clear the owners aren’t interested. The sheets were clean, the towels too but we didn’t want to use the bathing facilities. If you’re needing a cheap room last minute, it’s better than nothing.

On the way up
This is a budget hotel but has new carpets. The rooms have been painted and the rooms were clean. As I walked out two lots of maintenance staff went in with tools for repairs. This is not posh it is basic but the owners are investing. The restaurant building is not part of their operation, is closed and looks like a bomb site at this time but I think this hotel at half the price of others near by is acceptable if you just need a bed for the night. There is a Tesco across the road and food a couple of hundered yards away
