Awful
Appalling. Whb taps loose the hot one continuously running. No shower curtain just a rusty metal strip on the wall presumably what a screen used to be fixed to. The ceiling fan didnt work. The bed is only suitable for children? The wooden slats were loose and kept falling on the floor so the mattress was not stable and in the morning tne mattress fell through the gap when all the slats fell and i bashed my ribs on the right hand side leavng them extremely painful. This was Friday 27th about 8.30. I am still having to take painkillers. Needless to say i packed my case and went downstairs. The only person around was a young man cleaning the tables in the bar/dining area. There was another chap around but he was quite short with me. There was nobody around to complain too. In my rush to leave i forgot to take photos. I paid for 2 nights up fron. Apparently the owners own another hotel far better nearby and i will be going there to put in a written complaint.

Ok, but needs a good clean
Rather tired, need deep cleaning, bed could have been better. Food great, staff pleasant, but hard to find! No car parking, £35 fine whilst dropping bags off!

The Staff was neither friendly nor welcoming; the only sort of exception was a woman working at the bar who was, in a way, a bit more pleasant than the rest of the Staff

Not suitable as a hotel for families on Fri/sat
My son ended up sleeping on the floor on a mattress as they had forgotten to put our 4th bed into the family room. Club downstairs was playing music until 2am- everyone left by 3am so we finally got some sleep. Checked out early and had refund as the room was also dirty and the windows were broken.

Just about value for money
It was a short notice booking so no time to check reviews. It is a little run down, lots of minor maintenance required e.g. the taps move on.the basin when turning on or off the plug lets the water run away the shower temperature control doesn't work so its too hot the shower doors do not close properly . No remote for the tv etc.

8/10 Very good

Ok value for money, good location, room was clean and very spacious. I don't mind the duct-taped doors or furniture (especially for the price paid) but the two things that DID bother me were the terrible wi-fi (basically never worked) and the super hard mattress, lying on which you can actually feel the stiff springs against your back.

Given the present circumstances, it was satisfactory. More than happy to have somewhere to stay. Disappointing that i was unable to get my promised 10% discount via the blue light card. Shame there was no onsite parking and inadequate Wifi. Also an unsightly crack in the wall and not able to securely lock the door from the inside! Excellent service from the Portugese waitress at breakfast, thank you! Alsi thanks to Tommy for coming back especially to unlock.my door when I'd left the keys inside and for being so understanding! Overall it was a successful trip and i would stay here again if need be.

Dated
The shower and basin had hairs in them. The TV didn't function fully. The breakfast was very limited, we told the staff that the Beans! were off, but was told the only use that brand! The staff were not bad, very helpful and the bed was comfortable. Overall we would not stay there again

Not a saintly place to stay
The room given on check in looked nice, but quickly revealed it faults; lights not working, fan not working, and room window had a notice on it saying do not close as it was broken, and as it overlooked the street there was so much noise that sleep would have been impossible!! We were offered another room, but sadly it was so shabby, holes in the plaster-work and walls, tatty furniture, and walls and again out on to the noisy street below. We were offered another room, this again looked the nicest so far, but had a non obvious step in the floor which we quickly fell over (no warning markings) and then once on this level the floor sloped away markedly it made you feel dizzy. On testing the bed which followed the slope your feet were so much higher than your head you could feel the blood go to your head. We finally settled on a fourth room, still not good, a bit shabby, damaged furniture, but a level floor and bed. Whilst still a bit cramped for space it was the best compromise. Whilst most of the staff did their best to be helpful it was not always at a level as expected in a city centre hotel. As for the bar/dining area this was no more than a ' sports bar', Sky sports everywhere, and who wants to eat and drink with football screens everywhere you look. Again this looked tired and a lack of maintenance was obvious. Eating in was not a preferred option, but as breakfast was included, which was not bad, we made the best of it. I would not recommend this place to any one!
