Albaicín's winding cobblestone streets take you straight back to medieval Moorish Granada. This UNESCO World Heritage site delights with whitewashed houses, hidden gardens, and those jaw-dropping Alhambra views from Mirador de San Nicolás. Duck into traditional teahouses for mint tea or discover ancient Arab baths tucked between craft workshops selling ceramics and textiles. Tapas bars and Moroccan restaurants offer free starters with drinks, while intimate flamenco venues create magical evenings. Most exploring happens on foot due to narrow medieval pathways, though minibuses connect to the city centre. The well-preserved Corral del Carbón offers a glimpse into 14th-century Islamic design that history buffs will love. The area buzzes with traditional tapas bars where drinks come with free small plates of local specialities. Boutique hotels in converted palaces and convents provide authentic Andalusian charm. Most attractions are within easy walking distance on pedestrianised streets, though cobblestones call for comfortable shoes.
Perched on a hillside above Granada, Sacromonte captivates with its unique cave dwellings carved into the rocky terrain. This historic Roma enclave vibrates with the soul-stirring sounds of authentic flamenco performances held in intimate cave venues. Visitors can explore the fascinating Sacromonte Abbey or learn about traditional gypsy culture at the Cuevas del Sacromonte Museum while enjoying spectacular views of the Alhambra. Winding cobblestone paths lead to family-run tapas bars serving local specialities in this walkable area. The limited bus service means comfortable shoes are essential for navigating the steep terrain. Cave hotels offer unique accommodation with modern amenities and traditional charm for travellers seeking an authentic cultural experience.
Granada's historic centre offers a dazzling time-travel experience through centuries of Andalusian history. This hotel was absolutely brilliant right in the middle of Granada with incredibly helpful staff both on the reception and in the dining area.
Nothing was too much trouble.
The car park is quite difficult to find, but they did their best to help me.
The pool is only a plunge pool not a swimming pool but the rooftop area is great. They just need a few more beds as once there are eight people up there there’s no space….
Exceptional loved it

The self catering apartments were just as they look on the website, very good. A brisk walk uphill from Granada itself, which was what we expected. Very helpful staff. A small food welcoming pack. Very narrow streets, some the 'width of a mule'. If you are arriving by train or bus, take a taxi!

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Granada
Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Granada is during July, August, and November, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a great value for money experience, it is advisable to stay for at least 2 to 3 days to fully explore the city’s remarkable landmarks and cultural sites. This includes the stunning cathedral, various historical monuments, the majestic Alhambra castle, beautiful gardens, intriguing museums, and delightful cafes, as well as opportunities for sightseeing and shopping amidst the city’s charming architecture. Planning your visit during these months could allow you to enjoy the rich history and culture of Granada without stretching your budget.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: When planning your trip to Granada, you may discover delightful hotel deals by exploring the Dealsopens in new window section on Hotels.com. For those needing a last-minute escape, check the Last-Minute Deals section, where you could find discounted rooms near your travel date. Additionally, using the Smart Shopping comparison tool in the app may help you compare hotel prices and amenities, keeping you informed of any changes in availability or price drops. Enabling alerts ensures that you’re more likely to see flash sales and timely promotions for your Granada hotel stay.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, having some flexibility with your travel dates could potentially help you save on your stay at a hotel in Granada. If you’re in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price seems a bit steep, we may suggest alternative dates that could lead you to a more favourable deal.
Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive, but with Granada's superb public transport options, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
