Melia Purosani Yogyakarta
"Fantastic breakfast spread. Helpful staff and great hotel. It is on the older side but jogyakarta standard it is quite nice"
The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta - Handwritten Collection
"The staff were excellent"
Novotel Suites Yogyakarta Malioboro
"Everything was 10/10 except the breakfast wasn't to my tastes. I can't mark them down for that though"
ibis Styles Yogyakarta
"The rooftop pool was a welcome addition and a little oasis after touring the city. The beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful."
Greenhost Boutique Hotel
"Amazing unique hotel with nice pool, nice restaurant, and big clean rooms with good showers."
Kimaya Sudirman Yogyakarta by Harris
"This is a good hotel. The staff is very helpful, breakfast delicious with incredible selection and the rooms comfortable. My only complaint: the bar is terribly overpriced. We learned that our first night. Later nights we noticed that no one is there. (Hint: walk 3 blocks to Ar+otek --- their bar & restaurant are much more reasonable with local live music many nights)."
Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta
"Beautiful and luxurious hotel with an A+ staff. Room is cleaned every day unless I ask to skip (with a button near the door) but they will come by later for a rescheduling. This way they can restock the free complimentary water and food/fruits. Pool is very nice, breakfast buffet is from 6am to 10am and I do recommend getting it as part of your room - wide selection and most of its pretty good. There is a national anthem at 10am that does play in public areas of the hotel. Staff is helpful and professional with the front desk and those at most front facing positions having strong English speaking skills too. Would go back if I was in Yogya"
Grand Mercure Yogyakarta Adi Sucipto
"The basement parking entrance & space are p0very tight. I suggest to have a better design for the transport parking facility."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Yogyakarta
- Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Yogyakarta on a budget is a fantastic opportunity, particularly in February, March, and September, when hotel prices may drop to lower prices, making it an affordable destination. For travellers keen on exploring the city's rich landmarks, history, and culture—including temples, museums, monuments, and tours—a stay of at least 2 to 3 days offers great value for money. This period is ideal for those interested in immersing themselves in cultural attractions, historical sites, and archaeological treasures while enjoying a budget-friendly adventure.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover great hotel deals in Yogyakarta, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. It's also wise to enable email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to keep informed about flash sales and exclusive last-minute offers. Furthermore, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make informed choices. By staying updated on availability and potential price drops, you're more likely to secure a fantastic last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a more affordable option for your stay in a Yogyakarta hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and occasionally better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price leans towards the higher end, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer a more budget-friendly option.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive; however, Yogyakarta boasts excellent public transport links, allowing you to discover more affordable independent hotels located a bit further out, yet still well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often remarkable value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
