Perfect location and great staff. Our room was on 38th floor so we had fantastic views and the noise below wasnt an issue. The one gripe we had was the lack of clothing storage. Just one small rail with 4 or 5 hangers and nowhere to put our suitcases. We would still definitely recommend Hotel Groove Shinjuku to anyone in spite of this.

The customer service at this hotel was impeccable. It was in a great location in a quiet neighbourhood, which suited us. It was a two minute walk from Gaiemmae metro station which is on the very handy Ginza line. The staff went above and beyond to help us with our questions and phoned onward hotels for us when we had questions. The room was clean and had excellent amenities. Thoroughly recommend!

It’s a bit far away from the train stations but it’s close to the heart of Asakusa which is a reasonable trade off imo. It’s in a lovely quiet area so your walks to places are through very residential areas. The rooms themselves are good, the staff is helpful and it was a generally enjoyable experience.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Tokyo
Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Tokyo in January, August, and September offers a budget-friendly option on a budget, as hotels may drop to lower prices during these months. For those planning a city escape, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to explore the city's landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions, including temples, museums, monuments, urban shopping areas, architectural highlights, natural parks, and seafood spots. This affordable period provides great value for money while offering a glimpse into Tokyo's rich cultural heritage.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers travellers the chance to explore Tokyo with a host of hotel recommendations across Japan. To find last-minute hotel deals, you may discover attractive options by visiting the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Deals sections. For a more tailored experience, enable alerts to stay informed about flash sales and special last-minute promotions. Moreover, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best deals as room availability or prices adjust. Enjoy the convenience and potential savings on your Tokyo getaway.
Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you find better value on your stay in a Tokyo hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer improved value. When you book with Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we may suggest alternative dates that could lead to a more affordable option.
Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Tokyo's outstanding public transport system, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that is still well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
