What an amazing hotel ! It's split into two halves, with the dining (and much more - chapel, art gallery, lovely rooms, including a games room!) in a separate building across the courtyard. If it's raining, there is a tunnel connecting the two!
The breakfast was very good - the evening meal (we had half-board) was reasonably good, not outstanding.
We couldn't use the large outdoor pool this time, but it's impressive.
Our main comment is about the staff, who were very friendly and incredibly helpful when we had a medical issue in the early hours of the morning of Saturday 21st September. The night porter was very kind and went out of his way to help - we're very grateful. The local A&E is close, and they dealt with the problem very well.
We'd recommend this hotel, and it was great value, especially the half-board option.
