Bad customer service
Work was being done on the water pipes to fix a leak at the hotel. This was not communicated to us when we checked in. When we entered our hotel room and used the restroom, we found we had no water in the room to wash. We tried to call the front desk but the phone in the room was not working. We went to the desk and asked about the lack of water. It was then that we were told about the repair happening on site. They did not apologize for not communicating the situation when we checked in. They defended themselves by saying there's nothing they can do about it, explaining the repair needs to be done. They had no explanation as to why the phone was not working either. Good customer service would have resulted in communication at the time we arrived and understanding of our situation when we complained, and ownership / apology for their lack of communication. Instead, we received a "too bad for you" reaction. They need to learn that owning up and an apology go a long way.
