This homestay has the most jaw-dropping, spectacular view of the Batad rice terraces from its restaurant! This placed offered basic accommodations, so do not expect too much in that regard. Thy have one restaurant with about 4-5 tables that you can hang at and 2 communal bathrooms/showers. You will probably get all your meals at this place; they are very good! They have Filipino food and American food. Make sure to place your order for meals ahead of time, otherwise you may be waiting longer than expected. We stayed in the "Nipa hut", which had its own outdoor toilet/cold shower nearby. It got kind of cold at night, so you may want to request more blankets. The way to flush the toilets is to pour water down.
Irene, who checked us in, was very nice and we hired her mom as a tour guide for a roundtrip hike through the beautiful rice terraces to the Tappiyah waterfalls. Definitely recommend; she didn’t speak much English, but she was patient and an expert at navigating.
For check-in: we arrived around 4pm and it seemed that there was no one to check us in at the desk. An employee saw our group and informed us that someone would be with us soon. We were fine to wait around and admire the view; be patient with service :)
Getting there was a 20-30 minute track downhill on a narrow path and steep steps from the Saddle. Definitely not for the faint of heart. I'd recommend packing light and use only a large/ backpacker's backpack! Thanks Irene and family, we had a wonderful time!
