This hotel was our first real stop in Japan and it was perfect.
Situated near the very top of the Gora funicular we chose to walk, although transfer is available. About a 30 min easy walk with nice views, it could be harder to find without a map.
The staff where very warm and welcoming on arrival.
We where, admittedly, pretty much noobs to Japanese culture when we arrived. The staff where incredibly kind, patient and understanding. They went out of their way to teach us how to use the Onsen, the futons. Even how to eat particular dishes.
After our stay we felt well equated to go out into a new country and not look like complete idiot tourists.
The food was delicious, all cooked fresh. Our waitress was lovely and, despite us not being able to communication well, taught us a lot about Japanese food.
Onsen, I now know are the best cure for a long haul flight. This hotel has two that alternate between men and women. The larger has large glass windows into a beautiful view of the hills and trees.
I can't say thank you enough to the staff and the perfect welcome they gave us to the country.
