Close to the airport
I arrived at check-in time on a Sunday. I wanted lunch (almuerzo) at a nearby cafe. Unfortunately, there were none open. Settled for a bag of chips at a nearby tienda. I wanted dinner (Cena) and the hotel provided a home cooked traditional meal for a price. So only one choice. The hotel is clean, bed was comfortable and the staff aims to please. I will stay there again but a little more prepared in the future.

Las Hortencias was welcoming and comfortable. It was our first time in Ecuador knowing little spanish. Elizabeth and her family's generosity and kindness made our visit a positive one. After waiting for two hours to get through migrations at the airport and with no way of notifiying Elizabeth, the shuttle transportation was still waiting for us and welcoming. The place is clean and comfortable with a beautiful sunroom to eat breakfast in. They also have a friendly and happy dog!

It is a family run business including taxi pick up and drop off at the airport which is very nice and comforting. As I entered the premises I was truly impressed with the layout and cleanliness of the establishment. My room was clean and comfortable as well. Very nice place to stay near the airport. If I travel through Quito again that is definitely my place to stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for clean, comfortable and inexpensive place while passing through Quito.
