Over promise, under deliver
The room was clean and it all looks nice from the outside, but underneath the surface we had a very frustrating stay.
It was crowded and we had to wait in lines for most things. Breakfast buffet line in the morning was very long. You have to wait in line for dinner at the buffet if you don't make a reservation for a restaurant in person by 4pm. When we arrived, we checked into our room at 3pm and by the time we got settled it was 4:15pm and they told us it was too late to book a reservation. There were lots of empty tables at restaurants but we were unable to visit any of them that night and had to wait in a long line for the buffet.
One day, we had some chairs at the kids' pool and then went to get breakfast. When we came back, the staff had moved our stuff off the chairs and every single chair was full. We waited an hour for a manager to try to help us, which is unacceptable when we have limited time on vacation and we were following the same systems that everyone else was using.
It seemed like there were a lot of hoops to jump through or extra things that you couldn't do without paying. And the things that were included often came with long, slow lines. Overall, I would not recommend the Paradisus Cancun and will not stay there again.
