Poor Service & Management, not how it used to be.
One of the worst experiences we have had at a “5 star” hotel. We got married here 10 years ago and were excited to reminisce on our grand day. But the hotel has changed a lot since. It was not very clean. Most of the hotel staff were not helpful or pleasant to work with. The bedding was dirty when we first got to our room. We asked for housekeeping to come and change it but instead the guy handed over the sheets to my wife at the door expecting her to change them herself. We called again and someone else came and changed the sheets for us.
Then later on the door handle came off. We called to get some one to repair it. Later the next morning my wife was coming to breakfast with my kid when the handle came off again and she got stuck inside the room. It took a bit for someone to come and when they did they were laughing about the situation. The marble floor was damaged when they opened it.
Breakfast was underwhelming from other properties. The staff did not get 4 out of the 6 (ghee, 2x dosa, 2x parathas, uttapam) items we asked for and even the manager didn’t get us anything when we asked him.
This was a poor service and managing team at the hotel. And very poor maintenance and upkeep.
It should not be a 5 star hotel and I definitely would not recommend it.
