I received a really warm welcome on arrival and was directed to my room.
The building has a lot of character, however, this does mean a lot of creaky floorboards.
I stayed in an economy room. As such, it was tiny, but ample for one night.
The bathroom was clean, the shower was hot with sufficient water from the shower head.
Fabulous cooked breakfast, catered for my gluten and dairy allergy without prior notice.
Negatives - Bald patches in the carpet. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. The room was hot (it's December, so this shouldn't have been an issue!). I had to open the window overnight which exacerbated the noise from the traffic outside. On top of that, the duvet was thick, hot and heavy. I think I spent most of the night awake! The floorboards creaked from the room above. Walls are thin, so when the person next door comes in or goes out, it sounds like they are in the room with you! The beeper on the door is loud, so when your neighbour doesn't shut the door properly, it can go on for ages.
All in all, the staff are great and the breakfast was lovely, but it's not enough to make me want to stay again.
