This is one of my favorite hotels in the area. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are great, parking is easy and free, and it’s always been clean and well-maintained. If not for one major issue, this would be my go-to hotel every time.
The problem is the exorbitant $250 incidental hold they place on your card at check-in—even if you’re only staying one night. I’ve stayed at hotels across the country, including luxury hotels in major cities, and I’ve never seen a hold this high, especially for a mid-range property. To make matters worse, the hold stays on your card for a full week, which is a major inconvenience, especially if you’re in town for a vacation, wedding, or event where every dollar counts.
There is no justifiable reason to hold $250 per night for that long. Most hotels in the area have a much more reasonable policy, and this excessive charge is the only thing keeping me from staying here more often. I still book here from time to time because I love everything else about the hotel, but if they ever lowered the incidental fee to a more standard amount, this would be my first choice every time.
