Well presented and maintained smallish hotel with massive teak furniture all around. Rooms clean and comfortable.
Near Hirugano Kogen ski park (although not a walking distance if carrying skis and gear) is a bit off the tracks. After a day in the ski fields, spa at level 5 is a great way to end the day.
Japanese style dinner, included in the price is an 8-course meal that will stuff you well. Japanese breakfast is as if intended to keep you full until dinner.
The restaurant is with chairs and tables, not tatami and floor sitting.
I would stay there any time if I need to be in the area, even if it takes 30 minutes to get where I go.
That is important, there are 4 near adjacent snow parks in the area (Hirugano, Takasu, Dynaland, Washigatake), unless you are right on the field (as Rainbow hotel in the Washigatake snow park) you would have to drive anyway. Staying in this hotel would probably be a viable option you would not regret to use.
