Stayed for 3 nights for a business trip, I chose the hotel mainly as I've been to the area a few times, been quite disappointed with others in the area and wanted a hotel that had a good location for things to do after work. The hotel is within walking distance of the main shopping town, lots of restaurants and bars and train station too and it proved to be perfect for me! The immediate surrounding area of the pantiles was lovely with plenty going on if you don't want to stray far but even though it was busy I didn't get disturved by noise from the town below which was an initial worry, it's very convenient!
I was on the Fourth floor, which had lots of stairs and as an old building, it had no lift, this was fine for me but definitely worth taking into account when booking as a special request if you have limited mobility! My room was impeccably clean, I've been in the area many times at other hotels and this hotel was the best by a mile! The coffee supplies, water and towels were changed daily and the bathroom was modern with great shower and bath facilities! I only ate in the restaurant once but found the food to be absolutely delicious and fresh, there was a great varied selection and very reasonably priced for a hotel! The check in/check out process was very smooth and all the staff I met were incredibly friendly and accommodating! 10/10 stay, I will be back again and highly recommend!
