The Everbright Hotel is very inviting. Staff are friendly, breakfast is pretty good, the decor is very good, the rooms are clean and though they are a little dated the luxury is obvious.
So why, when after a long day of travel and I finally decided to sit down on my bed, was the sound of me sitting similar to that of the sound of a wooden mallet on a slab of granite? THUNK!
The beds are so hard that when I sat down I felt the pain go from my rear end straight up my back, into my neck and out the top of my head. I am 33 years old and when I awoke in the morning, after the worst attempt at sleep I have ever had, I felt like I was 96 as I limped around all day looking like an invalid. The pain is still here and it has been a couple of weeks since my return flight.
Both my employers were travelling with me, they are significantly older. They did the same thing I did and actually pulled the sheet up to check if the matress was indeed on the bed. Needless to say... we will not be checking back into the hotel ever...
