Lovely hotel
Beautiful old building that has been modernised on the inside. The christams decor is beautiful. Staff were very friendly. The breakfast was a great choice from yougurt, cereal, toast, fry up had all the usual, eggs, bacon, sausage, beans etc. Also a selection of pastries. The evening meal was very nice. No complaints at all, the hotel looks like its not long been done up. Loved the littlewelcome try with, bottlewater, teas ,coffee, hot chocolate and a wee pack of biscuits. Also a nice cookie on arrival at reception desk.

Because we didn't book directly with the hotel, we had no say in choice of room, which turned out to be a cosy double with a bathroom you couldn't swing a cat in. However, a quiet word at reception and we were upgraded to a standard double at no extra cost. The staff at the hotel were all very courteous while the service at meal times was excellent.

Lovely traditional hotel which has just been refurbished to a high standard. But the price reflects this as it has nearly doubled since the last time I stayed a few years ago. But most hotels in Scotland now are expensive.
