Coastline Mirissa Boutique hotel and spa
"As a Sri Lankan living abroad who has travelled to many countries, this was a rare and memorable find in Sri Lanka. We had an excellent stay at this beautiful, eco-friendly hotel. It is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of Mirissa Beach, and the property is exceptionally well maintained. The staff were warm, friendly, and always happy to accommodate our requests. A particularly nice touch was being personally greeted by the owners during breakfast, which made us feel genuinely welcome. If you’re looking for a peaceful, sustainable place to stay in Mirissa, I highly recommend this hotel."

"Amazing property, great location and great service! I am here with the extended family, we have almost 10 people and the hotel has been super receptive to our needs and accommodative. The rooms are large and well maintained. Dhilini and Chamindi were specially great, they remembered our anniversary and tried to make it special."

"Very beautiful hotel and people"
Beach & Bliss Mirissa
"Really loved the staff. The hotel is in a great location. Private access to beach. Bueatiful scenery. The only thing that I did not like about this hotel is that the beds are unfortunately hard as a rock. I loved that they had netflix though!"
Weligama Bay Resort
"Our stay in the garden villa was really great. It was clean and spacious with a semi outdoor bathroom. The pool area was straight in front of the ocean so you could watch the waves from your sunbed. Surf board hire was cheap with a large range of boards. Drinks were cheap and food yummy."
Southbeach Weligama
"The ocean view was very nice. Our room was one of the best and very large, it accommodated 4 people. Everything was very nice we arrived in the low season yet we enjoyed our time. The staff were splendid. We ate all our meals at the hotel restaurant because it tasted so good and the staff were so helpful and friendly."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Matara
- Book for the cheapest times: Matara offers a great value for money experience, especially for those travelling on a budget. The most affordable periods to visit are in June, September, and October, when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. For exploring the key landmarks, historical sites and cultural attractions – including the sea, temples, monuments, surfing, swimming, beach, friendly people and dining options – a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is ideal.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: You may discover attractive hotel deals in Matara by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com. For those planning spontaneous trips, the Last-Minute Deals option may be useful, offering discounted hotel rates close to your travel date. Additionally, using the Smart Shopping feature on the app, a comparison tool, you're more likely to see various hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you can make an informed decision for your last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Matara. For those seeking unique accommodations, boutique hotels may provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your selected dates is above or below average, and if it appears to be higher, we might suggest alternative dates that could help you secure a more attractive rate.
- Consider your location: Opting for accommodation nearer to key attractions or city centres may provide convenience, yet it often comes with a heftier price tag. For more budget-friendly options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. Independent hotels located further afield could offer a more authentic and usually more affordable experience.
