I loved the updates to the bathroom and kitchen area! Very warm and cozy with the hardwoods and view of the outdoor garden. Wonderful location - close to everything!
Great place! Great host!! Everything was so perfect.

Really live as a local!
We stayed there for four days. It's a very spacious two-storey house located in a quiet street right in the city centre. There is a balcony with a memorable river view. Everything is neat and clean. One can feel like living as a local. Great for tourists who wish to explore the sentiment of Takayama as a unique traditional city of Japan.

Fantastic traditional house
Loved our stay in Takayama. The house is in a traditional style but with all modern conveniences overlooking the river. The host Shingo was extremely helpful and provided extras like a free pass to a local onsen. Fantastic location in the older area of the town and easy walking distance from the station. Highly recommend it.

top of a hill, commanding view of city
A place that is quiet and close to nature in Japanese style. Great privacy, good for small group or family(like mine). As It is at hill side so there will be more flying bugs but not those obnoxious kind, mainly small moth. Definitely need a car. Japanese breakfast is great. Both rooms are spacious, combining traditions and modern furnishing
