My friends and I recently stayed at this location, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. When we first arrived, the hotel lobby was clean and welcoming, which gave a good first impression. However, that changed once we entered our room — the smell was awful, like wet dogs had been living in it.
I called the front desk several times from both the room phone and my cell phone, but no one ever answered, even though there were multiple staff members present when we checked in. I eventually had to walk down to the front desk to address the issue in person. The staff member offered to spray the room, which temporarily masked the odor, but the smell never went away completely.
To make matters worse, we saw a roach in the room on the day we checked out. The blankets were rough and uncomfortable, and I barely slept during our stay. This was frustrating because Home2 Suites used to be one of my go-to hotel brands, but this experience has definitely changed my opinion.
Given the poor room conditions and lack of responsiveness, I truly believe a discount or some form of compensation is warranted. And I expect the $100 incidental hold to be returned promptly.
Home2 Suites can and should do better — especially for loyal guests. Unfortunately, I won’t be staying at this location again anytime soon.
