Kazimierz
Kazimierz blends Jewish heritage with hipster energy in the heart of Kraków. Cobblestone streets lead to historic synagogues, vibrant street art, and the interactive Galicia Jewish Museum. The area buzzes with culture, from the ornate Remuh Synagogue to lively Szeroka Square where history feels alive beneath your feet. Jewish cuisine shines at traditional restaurants while craft beer pubs and quirky cafés line the streets. Boutique hotels in converted historic buildings put you steps from tram lines that reach Old Town in just five minutes. Most attractions sit within a 10-minute walk, making this medieval-meets-modern district perfectly navigable.

Kraków Old Town
Kraków Old Town sweeps you into a fairytale with its cobblestone streets and Gothic spires piercing the skyline. The UNESCO World Heritage site centers around the medieval Market Square, where St. Mary's Basilica and the Renaissance Cloth Hall draw crowds. Wawel Castle crowns the Vistula riverbank, while narrow streets reveal hidden courtyards and centuries of Polish history. Traditional restaurants serve pierogi and hearty stews throughout this largely pedestrian-only zone. Stay in boutique hotels housed in converted palaces or mid-range options in restored buildings. Getting around is easy on foot, with trams circling the perimeter and the main railway station just a 10-minute walk away.

Stradom
Stradom sits snug between Kraków's Old Town and Kazimierz, packed with medieval treasures that'll make history buffs swoon. Gothic church spires and colourful Renaissance facades create a photographer's dream along cobblestone streets. The Bernardine Monastery and Pauline Church on the Rock offer peaceful escapes with their ornate interiors and quiet cloisters. Restaurants tucked into historic cellars serve traditional Polish fare without Old Town prices. Boutique hotels in converted townhouses let you live like a local while staying connected. Hop on trams 1, 6, or 8 to explore, or simply walk—you're just 5 minutes from Old Town and 10 from Kazimierz.

Wesola
Wesola gives you a quiet slice of real Krakow life just steps from the buzzy city centre. Tree-lined streets and muted apartment blocks create a peaceful escape where you can recharge after exploring. The area sits close to Kraków Główny station, making it easy to zip off for day trips to Wieliczka Salt Mine or just hop a tram to the Main Square. Local cafes serve up traditional Polish dishes at wallet-friendly prices, perfect for travellers watching their złoty. Family-run guesthouses and budget-friendly apartment rentals offer authentic stays for less than you'd pay city centre. Trams and buses connect you to everything worth seeing in minutes.

Podgorze
Podgorze offers a fascinating blend of Kraków's past and present just across the Vistula River. Wander through this historic district where oversized bronze chairs create a haunting memorial at Ghetto Heroes Square. Culture seekers flock to Schindler's Factory museum for immersive WWII exhibits and MOCAK's white galleries showcasing cutting-edge art. The cobblestone streets reveal a area that feels worlds away from tourist crowds. The dining scene mixes traditional Polish bistros with trendy cafés at prices that won't break the bank. Boutique hotels in converted industrial buildings and modern apartments make for character-filled stays. Trams connect you to Old Town in just 10-15 minutes, while walking paths along the Vistula provide peaceful riverside strolls with city views.

Between cobblestones and spires, Main Market Square buzzes with life as horse-drawn carriages clip-clop past the Renaissance Cloth Hall. Inside, the Gallery of 19th Century Polish Art showcases national treasures worth lingering over. Wawel Castle looms magnificently on its hill – arrive early to avoid queues for the royal apartments and dragon's den below. After history overload, find respite in Jordan Park's greenery or splash at Park Wodny's pools. Town Hall Tower offers city views that explain why photographers crowd the square at golden hour. Little Market Square provides a quieter alternative when the main plaza overwhelms. For evening entertainment, cellar restaurants serve pierogi beneath medieval vaulted ceilings, often with live folk music.

PURO Kraków Kazimierz
"H"
Betmanowska Main Square Residence Adults Only
"One of my best hotel experiences. Staff were consistently helpful, facilities were fantastic- spic and span clean, super amenities, and my room overlooked the main square. The bed was luxurious as was the shower. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious- even serving bubbly and vodka (yes, at breakfast!)."
TRIBE Krakow Old Town
"Cool hotel in a great location"
Radisson Blu Hotel, Krakow
"Excellent hotel and location for Krakow."
1891 Garni Hotel
"Great location for visiting Krakow close to restaurants and shops and about 15 min walk to the main square."
Balthazar Design Hotel
"This was a spectacular hotel and experience. From the moment we arrived to the second we left, each staff member provided exceptional service. We would return here for sure. In addition, their Michelin restaurant, Fortina,, provided a delectable dining experience. This hotel understands the meaning of service. A must if you're staying in Krakow."
Wyndham Grand Krakow Old Town
"Air conditioner didn’t work. Repeatedly was told it would be fixed and never was. Complained at check out and was finally given $50 off my stay. Unacceptable."
Hotel Unicus Krakow Old Town - Destigo Hotels
"The hotel is in a good location, directly next to the center square. Everything was walkable, with many dining and pub options. A thing to note about the hotel is that it is connected to a casino. One person in our group tried to find us a bar in the hotel to watch the World Cup Finals. He had to sign many documents in order to get in, due to it being in the Casino. That said, he received a free drink and won money. So, it was a win for him. Another thing to know, is this hotel, along with all hotels within the city center is a "no pick-up" zone. We had to walk a short distance to catch our tour bus to the Salt Mines. The walk was easy and we had no issues with our stay."
Hyatt Place Krakow
"Great hotel, clean, comfortable and spacious room."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Kraków
- Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Kraków on a budget is particularly appealing during the months of January to March, when hotel prices may drop and lower prices are on offer. For those seeking affordable travel options, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days provides great value for money, offering ample time to explore a range of landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions including cathedrals, churches, museums, art galleries, monuments, castles, shopping districts, and dining experiences. This period is ideal for travellers who wish to enjoy the city's rich heritage and cultural vibrancy without compromising on quality or breaking the bank.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers travellers the chance to save on their Kraków hotel stay. You may discover attractive deals by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section or last-minute offers in the Last-Minute Deals area, where you could find discounts on hotels near your travel date. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to be informed about flash sales and special offers. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool on the app lets you compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you have access to the best hotel deals for your Kraków adventure.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may differ based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so having flexibility with your dates could help you save on your stay at a Kraków hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels often offer a more personalised service and sometimes represent better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest more affordable dates to help you find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Remaining nearer to prime attractions or city centres may provide convenience but usually tends to be more expensive. For more affordable options, consider accommodations in less central districts or neighbourhoods, balancing cost with ease of access to your desired destinations. You might also explore independently run hotels further afield, which can offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
