I made special plans as a Christmas gift for my family and chose this hotel as our landing place. When I was looking for hotels, I PURPOSELY made the decision based on the amenities it offered (room service as the main) and this hotel fit the bill.
We were excited to spend time in our favorite city, hoping to wake up and order breakfast in bed, because that's what we like to do on special trips, maybe a late night snack, etc. Upon checking in we're were immediately let down by being told the number one amenity we wanted was not available. No where on the reservation details when I booked this hotel was there any mention of the overhaul being made and the restaurant was non existent. Had I known this, I would have made other arrangements. I had paid for everything up front, so I couldn't make different accommodations.
To throw salt on the wound, I was also told I needed to pay a daily resort fee, which normally I have no problem with, however, this was no resort.
We were in room 2514, thinking this was high enough to be able to sleep in and not hear any traffic noise from below. This couldn't have been farther from the truth as it sounded like we were at street level. The window had either lost its seal, or was not inspected to ensure a restful sleep as it also let in a lot of air when the wind blew.
Deeply let down, and honestly kind of ruined a special gift to my family.
