I gave the Charlesmark Hotel five stars mainly because of its outstanding location. It is directly across from Copley Station, overlooks the Boston Marathon finish line, and is close to the Charles River. It is also an easy walk to Boston Common and downtown Boston. For sightseeing and getting around the city, the location was extremely convenient.

The location was amazing but it felt like that was all really. The room felt outdated and the bed was very small and uncomfortable. The air con was very dirty and stuff was coming out of it when it was on, but we couldn’t even open a window. There was constant noise throughout the hotel all night. The complementary coffee and pastries were not worth getting and the one time we wanted to use the cafe there was an hour wait. It wasn’t the most enjoyable stay for over $400 a night and felt like the bare minimum.

Hotel is in a great location near public transportation, restaurants, malls. The room is very clean and the grounds well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. They even provide umbrellas. I took advantage is the free tea and muffin. The fresh fruit was a nice touch.
