Comfy weekend

Perfect place for our family of 5 with kids ages 11-17. Comfortable hideaway and close to Yosemite and Bass Lake for us to enjoy both on our weekend trip. I would book here again. Areas of opportunity: more pans for cooking, faster WiFi (we all had devices).

Ew. More aptly named “Sierra Squalor.” Pros: 1. The kitchen was fine. Plenty of dishes. 2. The water was HOT. (If you have littles, pay close attention.) 3. The couch was comfortable. 4. Secluded feel with a nice view of the ridge line. Irritations: 1. The WiFi is SLOW. It went out a couple of times while we were there. 2. There’s no dishwasher. 4. There weren’t any bowls bigger than a cereal bowl - no mixing bowls. 5. Beds in 2 rooms were hard. 7. The showers were very aged - stained and rusty. 8. The curtains in the bathroom were 2 inches shorter than the window. 9. A piece of the paneling on the ceiling fell off while we were there. (It did not appear to be expertly installed.) 10. The bedding in 2 rooms was missing a top sheet. Absolutely Unacceptable: 1. The bathrooms were NOT CLEAN. THERE WERE HAIRS IN BOTH SHOWERS. GROSS HAIRS. 2. The showers had soap scum and lint on flat surfaces and the glass door was covered in soap scum. 3. In the hall bath, the vanity and the floor around the toilet was very dirty. 4. In the hall bath, the toilet handle FELL OFF. We had to take the lid off to flush it every time we used that toilet. It’s clear that in preparing this house to rent, corners were cut and expenses were spared. The workmanship is shoddy and haphazard. But, those things are forgivable if a place is CLEAN. Old, rusty, and poorly renovated is unforgivable when paired with a broken toilet, grime, and other people’s hair in the shower.

We wanted to know if we could check in about an hr early and the host never responded so we just killed time until check in. Once we were able to check in at 4pm, we got into the house and noticed right away that the house was not clean. All of used the bedding was still on the beds. Dirty towels and trash was still there. I called the host and to my surprise she already knew the house had not been cleaned but failed to inform us before getting there. She said she would have the cleaning crew come and get it done. The cleaning crew came and it was a family with kids cleaning while we were there waiting. I was very frustrated with host because she knew it hadn’t been cleaned but never informed us so that way we could have delayed ourselves getting there. It was very uncomfortable just waiting to have the house cleaned. I was gonna just let it go but then we realized that the cleaning people put the dirty bedding back on the beds. And the extra blankets that were thrown on the floors was put back in the closets. Also be careful with your food because they have ants all over the kitchen counters, stove and floor. I let the host know what was going on and she choose to just ignore me. I also let hotels.com know and they only offered a $25 credit. I’d think twice about staying here
