Appalachicola has good restaurants, nice boutiques, and it's very walkable. We were very close to the grocery store and all along the river is very scenic. Especially love the historic buildings in town and the cemetery.

The beach at St. George Island was lovely. The oysters at two locations were excellent. The people were friendly. The Cafe with the chocolates on Market Street was absolutely top notch and great value.

This might be damning with faint praise but it may be the nicest town in FL panhandle. We walked the entire town and felt safe. Shops are mostly tourist oriented.

We were here in April before season was in full swing and were disappointed to discover that shop hours were 10-5 or 5:30 and most restaurants closed early too

"Decided to take a random trip and this place was almost perfect. Great price for a 2 night stay. Very quiet, low key family atmosphere. Nice size room with a small kitchen. Nice friendly staff. Just a short trip back to port st Joe and Mexico beach. I would recommend and I would definitely stay again!"
"The Blue Parrot restaurant was in walking distance and the food was really good for the price. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but nothing we couldn’t deal with for 2 nights "
