Our experience at the Monte Carlo Inn was overall excellent. My daughter and I stayed here while she underwent an operation and two night stay at a local hospital. The hotel was clean, well maintained and the staff were extremely friendly. The free continental breakfast was more than adequate, including cold and hot cereals, pastries, bagels and toast, yogurt, fruit, juice and coffee/tea.
I only have one complaint/concern. As my daughter was in the hospital, I wanted to take our breakfast with me rather than sit in the restaurant to eat it. However, I was told that we were not allowed to take the breakfast dishes up to our room and no takeout bags were available to take the food out. When I produced my own bag and was putting food into it, I was told that I was not allowed to bag up the food as other guests would want to do the same thing. Also, the dining room was quite large but part was closed off, although no signs were posted that it was closed. Guests who ventured into that area were told they weren't allowed to sit there and were told to sit in the other area. By the third day, however, they were allowing people to sit there. Unfortunately, this created a less than welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant.
