Manzara müthiş hijyende bir sıkıntı yoktu oda da gayet geniş ve balkonluydu.Kahvaltı israf olmasın diye ayarlanmış tabaklardaydı ve çay servisi masaya yapıldı.Yüksek tavanlı köşk de deniz manzarası eşliğinde saygın bir havası vardı.

Tarihi binaların muhteşem bir doğa içinde olması gerçekten çok güzel, lokasyon ve manzara harika. Yeni tadilattan geçmiş bir odada tek gece konakladık, gayet konforlu bir odaydı. klima olmasaydı üşürdük, ne yazık ki kalorifer yanmıyordu. Kahvaltı ise tam bir hayal kırıklığıydı. Bir parça çeri domates ikiye kesilmiş, iki parça salatalık, 4 parça ince kesilmiş peynir çeşiti, porselen reçel kabının yarısını bile doldurmayacak tereyağ, reçel, bal ve pekmez vardı. Haşlanmış yumurtanın yanında kızarmış ekmek, simit ve iki küçük parça poğça ile vasatın altında bir kahvaltıydı. Şahane ambiansı olan salona girdiğimizde yaşlı bir görevli masaları hazırlıyordu. Normal olarak günaydın kolay gelsin dedik, görevli cevap bile vermedi, duymadığını düşündük.Arka masadakiler kalkınca ve oraya yeni bir aile oturunca, masanın temizlenmesini istediklerinde aynı yaşlı görevli gelip “bu kadar boş masa varken neden buna oturdunuz ?” diye sormasıyla beynimizden vurulmuşa döndük. Elbette bu soruya cevap ‘“sana mı soracağız” oldu. Bu iletişimi hayretle izledik. Masamıza servis veren asıl garsonun tavırları gayet iyiydi, ancak yaşlı komi kesinlikle hizmet sektöründe çalışmamalı. Genel olarak çok daha iyi puan vermek istediğimiz bu otelin kahvaltısını kesinlikle güçlendirmesi gerekiyor.

This place is an Istanbul institution. Formerly the old British yacht club, it's is now an expensive beach club with a hotel open to non-members. It has spectacular views, a massive pool, and in the summer months is jumping. In the off season, it's blissfully quiet, only disturbed by the ferries announcing their arrival at the port below. The accommodation is split into a new block, which you should avoid, and the historic main building. The rooms are no frills, and are in desperate need of a revamp. But for me, this adds to the charm. This is very old school Istanbul, and I love it. The downside is that the food and the waiters are institutional, too. Eat off-site. The breakfast is good though – classic Turkish buffet with real coffee and lashings of tea. It's also cheaper than the legendary Splendid Palas just across the road, but offers a similar crumbling glory and equally rotten dining. And the pool is way bigger. If you want luxury, forget it. If you want a slice of Princes' Islands nostalgia, stay here.

ilk kalışımızdan çok keyif aldığımız için tekrar gittik. Ama bu sefer büyük hayalkırıklığı idi. Sezon açılışı yapmalarına saylı gün kaldığı için pazar sabahı saat 10'da bahçede büyük gürültü çıkaran işlere giriştiler. Ağaç dallarını ve metalleri elektrikli testerelerle kesmekten başlayıp ağacın tepesine çıkmak için metal iskele kurulmasından, o metalllerin sonra sökülük bir diğer ağacın gövdesine yerleştirilmesi boyunca çıkan fırlatma, montaj seslerini bir hayal edin. Sanırsınız inşaat ortasında kalmışsınız. Bir haftasonu şehir gürültüsünden kaçıp dinlenmek istiyorsunuz, ve bunun için bir bedel ödüyorsunuz, karşılığı bu.
