We checked in just as the clock turned 11pm (it took all that time to get through passport control off the ferry), and thankfully the reception was still open. The man who welcomed us spoke good enough English, but allowed me to speak bad French to him!
We parked in the municipal carpark opposite, which is free at that time of night, until 9am.
We had to pay visitor's tax for all our party (not just the adults, as Hotels.com states), but it's only 90 cents per person.
Our triple room was up two flights of quite easy stairs, and was delightful. Because of the layout, we had quite a lot of space for our bags. The room was presented beautifully, and was really clean and welcoming. It was double aspect, and had views of the lighthouse, ferry, and canal; despite this, it wasn't noisy in the morning.
The shower room was very small, so this wouldn't be the room for you if you are of a larger size!
We didn't eat at the hotel, as I favour the boulangerie in town for a first day's breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay, and I'd absolutely stay here again in the future. I'd like to stay for longer.
