The hotel was good value for money. You get what you pay for, and for this price you get a standard hotel. It's comfortable and does the job if you're doing something in the area, but isn't a destination hotel.
We had a deluxe double room, and the furnishing was nice and in good condition. The bathroom was lovely with modern fittings and very clean.
There is no lift that we could see and there were a lot of stairs, so is something to be aware of if you have heavy bags or walking issues.
Maintenance could be slightly better as my bedside light was missing a bulb and there was a large hole in the skirting board that was covered by a metal plate which wasn't actually attached to anything.
Sadly, the breakfast was an absolute shambles. There was just one poor girl running around doing everything which meant people were waiting a long time for food. The cereal and drinks table was a total mess and there were no mugs or glasses so we weren't able to have a drink. We waited over 10 minutes to be served, despite there only being 4 other tables in the restaurant which has already been seen to. The table next to us waited 45 minutes for their food, and when our full English breakfasts arrived they came on a side plates. There was one small piece of bacon and no sausages as they had run out. They cooked the eggs wrong (fried instead of scrambled as ordered), the toast was cold, and we had a small thimble of beans.
Definitely would not have paid £7.50 for this.
